Crests can be crafted from plates collected either from quests, dungeons or Dimensional Rabbits. They can give certain stats, and certain plates can be crafted into multiple crests at Scholar NPCs.
Crest slots unlock after certain levels are reachedwhen? and will be destroyed if the player unequips them. However, Scholars can return them to the inventory for a fee.
Only one of each crest can be equipped at a time and multiple grades of the same crest cannot be equipped together.

Special Skill Crests[ | ]
These are obtained from Nests. They occupy a character's middle crest slot and allow the use of one Nest Boss ability as an Active skill. All classes can use all types but only a single crest may be mounted at any one time.
The usefulness of this Crest type is widely debated. While most of the skills have large attack modifiers and deal many hits to many targets at once (often disabling them for the duration and inflicting status effects), the fact that they do Magic damage makes them less effective for the majority of classes. Most are also difficult to use in combos due being channeled and sharing the same slow casting animation.
